Wetwang
Перевод на всеобщий названия Nindalf (сероэльфийское "nîn", "влажный, мокрый" + "talf", "плоское поле"). Однако это архаичная форма, т. к. "wang" – устаревшее слово для обозначения "поля, плоского пространства". (Wetwang – реально существующее в Йоркшире географическое название). Оба корня подлежат переводу. В скандинавских языках существуют эквиваленты и для "wet", и для "wang": исландские "votur" и "vangur"; шведские "våt" и "vång"; датские "vaad" и "vang". В голландской версии сохранено Wetwang, хотя Natwang подошло бы больше; в шведском переводе использовано Våta vägen, что неверно, т. к. не подходит по смыслу: Wetwang было непроходимым болотом. "Wang" не сохранилось ни в голландском, ни в немецком (за исключением географических названий или диалектов). Немецкое "Wange" и голландское "wang", "щека" – это не то же самое, хотя и родственное слово.
